Alters, explained ♥ Hey and welcome to our DID/OSDD series! In this post, we will be explaining Alters in detail, right down to different classifications. These are called roles. The different roles include: Gatekeepers: Unlike the slang 'gatekeeping', gatekeepers aren't alters who keep information from people. In a system, gatekeeper alters are the ones that control who fronts and makes sure nothing bad happens. And if something does happen, they are the ones who figure out how to help. They tend to show leadership qualities. DID/OSDD: The Basics

So... What is OSDD? ♥ Hey, and welcome back to my blog! Or should I say, our blog. I have - self diagnosed - OSDD. OSDD stands for Other Specified Dissasosiative Disorder. It's like a downgrade of DID, Dissasosiative Identity Disorder, for all the cases that don't fit the criteria. In our case, we don't have enough amnesia to be diagnosed with DID. We are apparently also too aware of our alters, or headmates. 🙄 ALTERS 🪪 Alters are the different people that exist in a DID/OSDD system. There are multiple different types of alters, who can have different roles. I won't go into that in detail, as I will post pages of the different aspects of DID/OSDD in detail.  SYSTEMS 🌐 Systems are the collection of people that exist in a plural person's mind. They can be as small as 2 personalities, or as big as 100 personalities! We have a friend who has around 75 alters, which is crazy, but it happens.
